| The Scottish city of Glasgow has had a number of greyhound tracks operating in the city over the years, the first being opened in Carntyne in 1928. The independent flapping track at Ashfield was situated at 4° 14' W 55° 53' N and the inaugural meeting took place on 21st April 1956. The track had a circumference of 400 yards and ran sprints over 270 yards, standard races over 450 yards, distance races over 640 yards and extended races over 930 yards. |

| Such was the grandeur of this meeting that their principal races were the Ashfield Derby and St Leger. It closed its gates for the final time in 1998. |
